OpenAI has just released a new version of their artificial intelligence program called GPT-4. It is an improvement on their previous version, ChatGPT, and has new features. If you would like to use GPT-4, here is how you can access it.

The long-awaited GPT-4 from OpenAI is finally here! It is a much more powerful model than its predecessor, GPT-3.5, and has many new features. GPT-4 is smarter and more creative than GPT-3.5, and can now process more words, accept images as inputs to generate captions, and more! In this article, we will explore all the features of GPT-4 and how you can access it.

How to access GPT-4?

If you have a ChatGPT Plus subscription, you can access GPT-4. However, there are three other ways to access it. In this article, I will refer to the free version of ChatGPT (which uses GPT-3.5) as "old ChatGPT" to avoid any confusion.

GPT-4 is only available to people who have a ChatGPT Plus subscription. OpenAI will change the usage limit depending on how many people are using it and how well it is working. You can also get GPT-4 through the API, but you have to join OpenAI's waiting list. If you don't have a ChatGPT Plus subscription or don't want to wait, there are three ways to get GPT-4 for free right now.

Option #1: Poe (Free Option)

You can use the Poe app to access GPT-4, an AI language model, without needing a ChatGPT Plus subscription. Poe was released by Quora in February.

Option #2: Microsoft Bing (Free Option)

In the last few months, Microsoft has released a free version of its AI-powered search engine, Bing, to compete with Google Search. The new Bing has been customized to include features from GPT-4, a powerful AI engine, but some features from GPT-4 may not be available on Bing.

Option #3: Through GPT-4 API

If you're not a developer, you may be wondering what an API is. It's a set of rules that allow different apps to communicate with each other. Using GPT-4 with the API is more complicated than using it on the ChatGPT website, but it's worth learning how to use it because APIs usually offer more features. If you're a Python user, GPT-4 API may be available on the OpenAI package, just like when the ChatGPT API was released. However, you have to join a waitlist first. GPT-4 is able to interpret the content of images

GPT-4 has an amazing feature where you can upload pictures and it will generate captions, classifications, and analyses. OpenAI's Co-Founder demonstrated this by taking a picture of a hand-drawn mockup with his phone and GPT-4 converted it into a website using HTML and Javascript code in less than a minute.

This new feature can do more than just create code; it can also create descriptions of images. Here is an example.

GPT-4 was able to look at three images and explain what was funny about them. This technology has many uses, such as describing what is on a chart, answering questions from a piece of paper, telling what can be cooked from a photo of ingredients, and explaining the meaning of a meme.

GPT-4 is able to come up with more imaginative ideas than the old ChatGPT

The old ChatGPT would not be able to do creative tasks like creating a story where each word starts with the letters A to Z. GPT-4, however, can do this.

GPT-4 will do this task better than other methods.

It is unlikely that we will ever need to write a paragraph where each word starts with a different letter of the alphabet, but this shows that GPT-4 is capable of solving complex tasks. You can use GPT-4 to create more interesting songs, scripts, and other writing projects. OpenAI has even stated that GPT-4 can learn to imitate your writing style.

GPT-4 is better than Old ChatGPT at solving complex problems

Old ChatGPT has difficulty solving problems that require complex thinking. To make it more accurate when dealing with math, common sense, and symbolic reasoning tasks, you need to give it some guidance. GPT-4 is better than ChatGPT when it comes to complex reasoning. Here is an example of how they both handle a math problem.

ChatGPT was not able to figure out that Andrew, Joanne, and Hannah were available from 12 pm to 12:30 pm, but GPT-4 was able to do so.

GPT-4 does better on tests like the Uniform Bar Exam, SAT, GRE, USABO, and others.

GPT-4 can understand and process more than 25,000 words

With the old ChatGPT, you could only use a limited number of words, which was enough for some tasks, but not enough for creating longer pieces of content such as blog posts, documents, and books. GPT-4, however, is able to read a Wikipedia page with many words and create a summary.

Products created using GPT-4 technology

GPT-4 is being used in products such as Duolingo, Be My Eyes, Stripe, and Morgan Stanley. Be My Eyes is using GPT-4 to make visual accessibility easier, while Duolingo is using GPT-4 in its premium plan, Duolingo Max. This plan has two features that help language students get AI-powered feedback and simulate conversations in a foreign language. It is likely that GPT-4 will be used in more products in the future.
